How often should I change my filter?
Filters should be replaced every one to three months. If you suffer from allergies, asthma, or other lung disorders, you may need to change your filter as often as once a month. Also- if you have pets or burn candles frequently, you may need to change your filter more often. You may want to speak with one of our indoor air specialists about installing a whole home air filtration system, allowing you to breathe easier!
It's easy to forget about something we can't see, but this is one "honey do" forgotten item that can cost you a lot of money in the long run. Filters are designed to trap dust particles before they get into your heating and cooling system's internal/ mechanical parts. A clogged filter allows dust particles to pass through your unit and into the air. Not only can it affect your family's health, dirty filters can also cause your HVAC unit to work harder, slowing the motor down or even stopping it altogether due to dirt and dust accumulation.
